Cian Ducrot and Irish Trad Super-Group to appear for Tubridy’s Late Late Farewell
Ryan Tubridy's last ever Late Late Show will include performances from Cian Ducrot, Andrea Corr, John Sheahan and many more. The show starts tonight at 9.35PM on RTE One.
Ryan Tubridy will appear as host on his last ever Late Late Show tonight, with an all-star cast set to share the Donnybrook studio with him. He is set to abdicate the role as host of Ireland’s most popular late night talk show after 14 years.
Irish favourite Cian Ducrot will be in the studio, as he dedicates a special performance to Ryan on the occasion of his last ever show. A rising star, Cian Ducrot has recently seen success in the Irish charts with his single, ‘I’ll be waiting’.
Tubridy will also be sent off by what has been dubbed an Irish Trad Super-Group. Giving Tubridy a “send off he will never forget”, the group includes big names such as Andrea Corr, John Sheahan from The Dubliners, Steve Wickham from The Waterboys, Moya Brennan from Clannad and Sharon Shannon, as well as many more artists.
The full list of artists in the group, specially assembled for Tubridy’s farewell party, includes: Andrea Corr, Andrew Hendy (The Mary Wallopers), Ciarán Owens (The Tumbling Paddies), Colm Mac Con Iomaire (The Frames), Debbie Byrne, Frankie Gavin (De Dannan), Jim Higgins (The Stunning), Jim Lockhart (Horslips), John Sheahan (The Dubliners), Niamh Dunne (Beoga), Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (Altan), Maureen Codd (Cuckoos Nest), Mike Hanrahan (Stockton’s Wing), Moya Brennan (Clannad), Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (Aeons), Sharon Shannon, Shayan & Shahab Coohe (Nava), Steve Wickham (The Waterboys) and Tara Howley.
Tubridy, who turns 50 on Sunday, will be joined by President Michael D. Higgins, who will reflect on the current state of the nation with him. Audiences can also expect to see some of our favourite toy show kids from over the years, as well as a special Toy Show performance.
Tubridy is handing the reins to Patrick Kielty, who will become the show’s fourth ever host. Tubridy expected tonight's show to be “bittersweet”, and thanked all those he worked with, his family, and his viewers.
The Late Late Show will take place tonight at 9.35PM on RTE One.
