Trailer released for The Lost Children of Tuam

The official trailer for Frank Berry's The Lost Children of Tuam has been released.

Produced by Liam Neeson, the film tells the story of historian Catherine Corless and her campaign to uncover the truth about the Tuam Mother and Baby Home, where the remains of 796 infants and young children were discovered in unmarked graves.

It is based on Dan Barry's 2017 New York Times article of the same name.

Starring BAFTA-winner Monica Dolan, Andrew Bennett and Ian McElhinney, the film had its World Premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh this July, where it received the award for Best Irish Film. It is set to have its International Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13.

"The story of Tuam is so important and is so resonant today in terms of children and who is deemed worthy of care and who is not," shared Neeson.

"It is a shattering and vital interrogation into the past that carries into our present.”

A state apology was issued after an excavation in 2017, which confirmed the presence of juvenile remains on the grounds. A full exhumation commenced in July 2025 to recover, identify, and rebury the remains with dignity in a dedicated memorial garden at the Tuam site.
