Minister Catherine Martin announces €1.1 million in funding to promote Irish arts globally
The funding will benefit 156 projects spread across 33 countries covering circus, dance, film, literature, music, theatre, visual arts and multidisciplinary projects.
The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin has announced funding of over €1.1 million for the promotion of Irish arts across the globe through Culture Ireland’s Grants Programme.
The new initiative will provide €468,280 in support of 44 international tours for a diverse range of Irish music acts including Yune Pinku, Joshua Burnside, modernlove, Pillow Queens, New Pagans, Dervish, Mick Flannery , Somebody’s Child, Sorcha Richardson, Lankum , Anna Mieke, Karan Casey, Ye Vagabonds, and Sprints.
The funding will also aid Clannad’s farewell tour across the US and Canada.

The scheme will allocate €41,300 to support the presentation of Irish film at key festivals across the globe including Newport Beach Film Festival, California, USA; Irish Film Festival Australia 2023; San Francisco Irish Film Festival.
Regarding theatre, International Tours by Fishamble: The New Play Company (KING); Brokentalkers and Adrienne Truscott (Masterclass), Kabosh (Green & Blue); Dan Colley/Riverbank (A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings) will receive €327,200 in funding.
“I am very heartened to see the strong demand for the work of Irish artists across the world as the sector continues to develop and renew following the global travel disruptions,” said Minister Martin while presenting the awards. “These projects demonstrate the true diversity of contemporary Irish arts and the excellent reputation of Irish artists on an international stage.”
