New Peaky Blinders series announced
It has not been confirmed whether Cillian Murphy will star in the new series. More details about the roles and storyline are yet to be announced.
A new Peaky Blinders series has been announced. The show will be set in the 1950s, featuring the next generation of the Shelby family trying to rebuild Birmingham after World War II.
Multi-award-winning actor Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocket Man) will play Duke Shelby (originally Barry Keoghan) in a story set ten years after the events of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
The cast also features Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Industry), Jessica Brown Findlay (Silo, The Flatshare), Lashana Lynch (The Day of The Jackal, No Time to Die), and Lucy Karczewski (Stereophonic) in her television debut.
Produced by Banijay UK's Kudos and Garrison Drama for the BBC and Netflix, the new series is being filmed in and around Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham.
Peaky Blinders creator and writer Steven Knight, said he's thrilled to announce a new era of Peaky Blinders.
"We are incredibly fortunate to have Jamie Bell taking the role of Tommy Shelby's oldest son, Duke, and to have Charlie Heaton also leading the cast. There are more exciting cast announcements to come, and Peaky is on the road again," he added.
The original Peaky Blinders series ran for six seasons, from 2013 to 2022, earning a strong audience on Netflix. Its film continuation Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, directed by Tom Harper, premiered on March 20. It has been the number one watched film globally on the platform for two weeks running.
It has not been confirmed whether Cillian Murphy will star in the new series. More details about the roles and storyline are yet to be announced.
