Children Of Africa is the title of a newly published photographic collection by Gary Moore, based on a journey he undertook by car from Capetown, South Africa to his hometown of Dublin in 1999.
The girl in this portrait is Guye Roba of the Kereyou tribe of East-Showa Ethiopia. The book features many stunning images of African children but it does more than simply arrest our eyes. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards raising much-needed funds for designated children’s education projects in sub-Saharan Africa, through the auspices of the Irish-based development agencies, Aidlink and GOAL. As the man said, some books really are for life.
