Hot Press: 25th October Clarification
In the edition of Hot Press dated 17 October 2007 (Volume 31, No.20) Hot Press published an article under the headline "John Clarke dismisses Sunday Times article". In it John Clarke of 2FM was quoted as saying that quotes, attributed to him from an article in Billboard by the Sunday Times reporter Jan Battles, were "a lie".
The article also said John Clarke "insists that the newspaper got it completely wrong". We now understand that the quotes in question were in fact correctly taken from a recent article in Billboard magazine for which John Clarke was interviewed by the US trade magazine's Irish reporter, Nick Kelly. We wish to apologise unreservedly for publishing statements to the contrary and for any implication that Jan Battles or the Sunday Times are anything other than thoroughly fair, honourable and professional in their approach.
