Win a trip to Euro 2016 in fantastic Beaumont Hospital competition
In memory of Chris Byrne, the son of former League of Ireland player Jody, a fundraising effort comes with the prospect of a mega prize for one lucky winner
A competition looking to raise funds for Beaumont Hospital is offering spectacular prize – a trip to watch Ireland lock horns with Italy at Euro 2016.
In March of this year, former League of Ireland player Jody Byrne suffered the tragic loss of his eldest son Chris, who died of a brain tumour at just 31. Survived by his wife Caroline and baby son Harry, he'd received treatment at the National Neurosurgical Centre at Beaumont Hospital – and now, the family are looking to raise vital funds for the facility.
Caroline's colleagues in An Garda Síochana are looking to raise €50,000 through a rowing challenge named The Chris Crossing, which will see a team row, row, rowing a boat across the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin Port – a journey of some 12 to 15 hours.
Your support for the effort, though, is as simple as sending a text – and you could bag yourself a massive prize in the process. Texting EURO16 to 50300 to donate €4 will put you in with a shot of winning a trip to cheer on our Boys in Green as they take on Italy in Paris. The prize includes crossing to Cherbourg for four with a family sized car, four tickets to the big game in Lille, and even an Irish shirt signed by the squad flying the flag this summer.
So text EURO16 to 50300 to support a good cause – and you could win a trip of a lifetime.
