WATCH: Trailer for The Stanford Prison Experiment
Based on real events that showed people's darkest nature
In 1971 an experiment was conducted at Stanford University in the US where a group of students were divided into guards and prisoners and asked to simulate a prison environment. Within days normal college students had transformed into brutally sadistic guards and slavish prisoners.
Now the story is being brought to the big screen by director Kyle Patrick Alvarez and stars Billy Crudup as the man who started the experiment Dr Philip Zimbardo. Check out the trailer below. No release date announced for Ireland yet.
