U2 wow Boston on first of four night TD Garden run
"Just go if you have the cash," implores the Boston Herald
We're not ones for jealousy, but when Bono strides onto the stage in Boston declaring, “The four men on this stage are playing a hometown show,” we can't help but feel a bit miffed.
To be fair, we've been promised that Ireland's time will come, and for now it's not unreasonable that the boys would consider the east coast city a home away from home. “Backstage we talked about it," the frontman told the crowd. "Twenty-three times we’ve played this city.”
From the reaction this morning, there's been no let-up in quality across those trips.
Chris Camire of the joyously named Sentinel & Enterprise writes: "Bono, now 55, sounds as good as he did at 35." Jed Gottlieb of the Boston Herald is even more straightforward in his praise, telling readers "Just go if you have the cash."
Bostonians have three more chances to catch the band, before the show rolls on to New York at the weekend.
