The song is taken from the band’s recent sessions with Danger Mouse and will feature in the upcoming film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
U2 have debuted their first new song in over three years. ‘Ordinary Love’ is set to feature in the forthcoming Nelson Mandela biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
The song was recorded with producer Brian ‘Danger Mouse’ Burton, known for his work with artists such as Gorillaz, the Black Keys and Beck. There are plenty of Danger Mouse’s fingerprints on the track and it marks a move in a more contemporary direction than the band went for on for their previous record, 2009’s No Line on the Horizon.
U2 fans will have to wait a little longer for any word on their thirteenth studio album, though there are strong rumours that details will be announced during the half time break of the Super Bowl in February.
