Colette Fitzpatrick will front the new bulletin from March 30
Next week will see the start of TV3's new 8pm main evening news bulletin.
Fronted by the familiar face of Colette Fitzpatrick (pictured), the 30-minute show has assumed the new slot in an effort to offer a bulletin during the early peak viewing time.
TV3 Group Director of News & Public Affairs Programming, Andrew Hanlon, said: “The introduction of TV3 News at 8 has been planned for some time and forms part of the evolution of TV3’s overall new schedule of programmes and the introduction of landmark shows such as Red Rock and The Seven O' Clock Show. For many people, catching the early evening news just isn’t an option as they are still travelling home from work. Now, TV3 News at 8 follows a long established European tradition, giving viewers the news at a time that suits them.”
The bulletins at 5.30 and 12.30 will continue as normal.
