Irish singer-songwriter Seba Safe emerged as one of Ireland's most interesting new talents in 2020, releasing 'Drip', 'Buckle End' and 'In Waiting' as gripping singles following 2019's 'I Want' and 'Wired'.

The acoustic rendition showcases the more fragile atmosphere spoken of in the lyrics, as well as highlighting the soft harmonies and earnest folk sound of Seba Safe.

"You through fuel in the flame that I was fanning high / What'd you do that for? / You move on in the vein that I / Waste my time to be your downfall," D'Alton sings, using vivid imagery of burning to comment on a past relationship.

Spending most of last year honing his craft and songwriting in the Wicklow Mountains, his recent Hot Press Lockdown Sessions performance during the COVID-19 pandemic impressed his audience.

Writing candidly and honestly on personal relationships, love, loss and change, Seba Safe’s pertinent lyrics are wrapped in a sound that combines pop, folk, dance and R&B with inspirations spanning from the sparse folk pop of Maggie Rodgers, Big Thief and Julien Baker to more modern production talents.

“Sometimes we latch on to the familiarity of our past in an effort to keep alive an old feeling or a memory of better times," Mike D’Alton (aka Seba Safe) says of the track's origins.

"Instead of moving on and creating a new story our mind gets caught in the cyclical behaviour, a habitual repetitiveness of thoughts. Thoughts of a once safe but now destructive space filled with loose ends and false hopes. Waiting for the future with one eye still resting on a time and love that have both long since passed."

2021 sees Seba Safe securing solid support across his releases to date, selling out a second headline show in Dublin, and garnering significant airplay support from BBC 6 Music, RTE 2FM and Spotify playlist 'Chill Afternoon'. This year should see D'Alton's impact on the Irish music scene grow even more tenable.
