TPM make surprise live appearance at KNEECAP's 3Arena show
This is the first time TPM have performed live in several years.
Hip-hop group TPM featured as surprise special guests at KNEECAP's 3Arena show last night.
TPM (Tax Payer's Money) is the original project of the Mary Wallopers' Charles and Andrew Hendy. This is the first time the Dundalk comedic and political rap duo have performed live in several years. They have not released music since 2020 and have not publicly stated their return, though they are not officially disbanded.
TPM appeared mid-gig to perform their 2015 track 'All The Boys On The Dole', recently featured on the House Of Guinness soundtrack. The show took place as part of night one of KNEECAP's Dublin stint, where the group discussed Mo Chara's recently dropped terrorism charges and performed an emotional show to commemorate their first gig in Dublin since last summer.
The Hendy Brothers formed the folk group The Mary Wallopers in 2019, gaining popularity for their live streams during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Since then, they've gone on to release two studio albums and perform at festivals such as Glastonbury and Electric Picnic.
TPM and The Mary Wallopers' work is heavily influenced by socio-political injustices and anti-capitalism, with the Hendy Brothers being vocal in opposition to the genocide of the Palestinian people. The Mary Wallopers are among the hundreds of signatories of the TOGETHER Against The Far-Right Alliance campaign, a coalition of artists and organisations.
