Watch Tori Amos cover Glen Hansard's 'Falling Slowly'
'Falling Slowly' was originally recorded by The Swell Season duo Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, for the 2007 musical film Once.
Tori Amos has paid tribute to Glen Hansard with her cover of 'Falling Slowly' at her show in Boston, following the tragic news of his passing in a motorcycle crash on July 29, aged 56.
A number of artists have made dedications to the late singer in recent days including Bono, Dermot Kennedy and Billie Eilish.
Amos performed the tribute to him during her concert at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, July 31.
Hansard wrote the song alongside his Swell Season bandmate and Once co-star Markéta Irglová. Their song from the soundtrack won Best Original Song at the 80th Academy Awards, which made Irglová the youngest recipient of an Oscar in a non-acting category.
Amos is currently on tour in support of her 18th studio album In Times of Dragon, which was released in May.
She also paid tribute to Sinéad O'Connor at a recent show, playing 'Three Babies' and 'I Am Stretched On Your Grave.'
Hansard was involved in the filmmaking process of Once, which was made on the modest budget of €112,000 and directed by his former bandmate from The Frames, John Carney.
His funeral took place today at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 1:30pm, with music from his friends and family. More than 40,000 fans joined the YouTube livestream to watch.
