Ticketmaster Ireland MD extends reach to UK
The Managing Director of Ticketmaster Ireland, Tommy Higgins, is to take control of their UK operation as well.
A well-respected music industry figure for going on 30 years, Higgins presided over the launch of the HMV chain here and then went on to establish Ireland's first computerised booking system, Ticketshop, in association with Ticketmaster.
Also promoted is Ticketmaster London and South General Manager, Chris Edmonds, who becomes UK Managing Director.
Talking to trade magazine Music Week, Ticketmaster President and Chief Executive John Pleasants says, "Tommy Higgins and Chris Edmonds are industry veterans with a great depth of knowledge and experience in the UK and Ireland and, with their senior management team, I'm confident they will continue to drive the UK and Ireland business forward."
