The Wailers announce Irish summer shows
The former Bob Marley group is set to play in Belfast, Cork and Dublin
Reggae band The Wailers have announced three Irish dates as part of their 50 Years of Positive Vibrations tour, celebrating the legacy of their music and paying homage to the 1976 album Rastaman Vibration.
The tour will include 26 dates across the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America, running from May to December 2026. The band is scheduled to perform in Befast at Mandela Hall on August 19, followed by a show at Cyprus Avenue on August 20 in Cork and a Dublin performance at Vicar Street on August 21.
The Wailers formed in 1981 after the death of frontman Bob Marley, who released 13 studio albums from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s with the group. One of them, Rastaman Vibration, was the first Bob Marley album to make it into the top ten of the US charts.
The band is now led by Aston Barrett Jr., who took over from his father Aston Barrett in 2016. Their latest album, Evolution released in 2024, earned a Grammy nomination. Barrett Jr. also portrayed his father in the 2024 biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
Tickets go on sale on May 15 at 10am here.
