The Rags confirm debut album release
A National Light hits the racks here on May 29.
The Rags celebrate the release of their excellent debut album, A National Light, with a May 29 headliner in Whelan’s.
In addition to the James Joyce-sampling, Dublin referencing title-track, it features ‘Love Is A Lie’, ‘Murderous Chant’, ‘Owner Of A Loveless Life’, ‘Memories Are Rife’, ‘A Mirror To A Woman (Is A Bullet In A Gun)’, ‘Bin Bag’, ‘Gatling Gun’, ‘Bury The Queen’, ‘Razors & Ropes’ and ‘Pennies For Thoughts’.
There’s also a literary bent – this time a Wildean one – to ‘A Mirror To A Woman…’, which is one of half-a-dozen songs that could easily be singles.
While bringing plenty of their own to the party, lead singer Daniel Anderson has a Pete Doherty-esque twang that is likely to go down extra well in Blighty.
