The Impressionists take home Coca Cola Blastbeat title
Hip-hop band The Impressionists emerged triumphant from a nine month battle of the bands, as they were judged the best act in the Coca Cola Blastbeat final on Saturday May 12.
Taking place at the Opera House in their home town of Cork, the band, fronted by 17-year-old Cliff Masheti, were picked ahead of six others that made it through to the all-Ireland finals.
Coming in second were 13-year old metal-meisters Transgress from Loughrea, Co. Galway and third were Home Star Runner from Dublin.
The competition was held as part of a project which involved transition year students setting up mini music companies which supported local acts in the battle of the bands.
