The Avalanches move June gig to the Olympia due to demand
It’s been 16 years since The Avalanches have come back to Dublin, so you’d expect tickets to be in high demand. They’re gonna need a bigger venue for this one, though, so the upcoming gig on June 16 has been moved to the Olympia to accommodate a bigger crowd. They’ll be bringing songs from their latest album Wildflower, which has also taken sixteen years to come out of the woodwork.
According to Robbie Chater, it was the bands’ faith in the music that kept them at work on the album. “What kept us going during the making this record was a belief in the day-to-day experience of music as a life force – as life energy. Hearing a certain song on a certain morning can change your day; it can make the world look different, changing the way you perceive light refracting through the atmosphere for the rest of the afternoon. Literally changing the colour and feeling- tone of your world.”
Tickets for the June 16 gig are available via ticketmaster.ie
