Cornelius, Mercury Rev, Eels and Mic Christopher feature on a spot-on new No Disco
New videos from Japanese mod-pop maverick Cornelius and New York rural mystics Mercury Rev are on deck for the latest instalment of No Disco (tonight, N2, 11.15pm).
Mercury Rev's "The Dark Is Rising" is the second single to be taken from 2001's All Is Dream, ranked 19th in the Hot Press Critics' Poll of albums of the year. Cornelius - whom HP readers might remember thanks to early single and No Disco favourite Star Fruit Surf Rider - returns with Drop, the first single from excellent new long-player Point, out at the end of this month.
In addition, we have been advised to keep our eyes primed for a brand-new Good Time John video, made by Dublin animation collective Delicious 9; an interview with Mark Everett of Eels; and Donal Scannell’s tribute to songwriter Mic Christopher, who passed away following an accident last November.
Stay tuned to hotpress.com over the coming weeks for an interview with Cornelius, an appreciation of Mic from Hot Press writer Kim Porcelli and more No Disco previews in future.
