Sweet Savage support Motorhead
The Belfast metallers also have a new album in the can.
NWOBHM legends Sweet Savage take care of special guest duties when Motorhead swing by the Olympia, Dublin (November 8) and Ulster Hall, Belfast (9).
Although failing to achieve commercial lift off during the early ‘80s, the Belfast outfit were a major influence on the then fledgling Metallica, and bequeathed first Dio, then Whitesnake and finally Def Leppard their lead guitarist, Vivian Campbell.
Back together permanently since last year, Sweet Savage have recorded a new album, Warbird, which includes Campbell guesting on a cover of Thin Lizzy’s ‘Whiskey In The Jar’. Record company machinations mean its release has been delayed, but fingers crossed it’ll be in the shops before they run riot with Lemmy & Co.
