Springsteen gives blessing to Bolger Brothers Tragedy Fund cover of 'The River'
Waterford’s Propeller Palms, Solar Taxi, Kodakid and The Unusual Suspects have joined forces under the Suspects & Guests banner to record a version of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘The River’ with all proceeds going to The Bolger Brothers Tragedy Fund.
It’s been set-up to help the familes of Paul (50), Kenny (47) and Shane Bolger (45) from Passage East who tragically died last month when their boat capsised in heavy seas off the coast of Tramore.
Damien Tiernan, RTÉ’s South-East correspondent, who’s PRO of the Bolger Fund, says the Springsteen camp were swift in giving permission for the song to be used and have taken a generous cut in royalties.
The track is available on iTunes on August 3. Bruce may even give a shout out to the guys from the stage in Kilkenny, so keep your ears peeled!
