Pink Floyd announce rare live album
A 4LP clear vinyl will be released exclusively for Record Store Day on April 18, followed by a 2CD edition on April 24.
Pink Floyd have announced their live album Pink Floyd Live from the Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26th, 1975.
The forthcoming LP, first recorded as a bootleg during the band's I Wish You Were Here tour across North America, will now be available on vinyl and CD. A 4LP clear vinyl will be released exclusively for Record Store Day on April 18, followed by a 2CD edition on April 24.
The 1975 concert came during a transitional period for the band, with I Wish You Were Here not coming until September of the same year. The tour was announced just one month before commencing and sold out almost instantly.
The Los Angeles concert featured performances of early renditions of unreleased tracks, as well as Dark Side Of The Moon in full.
The original recording was created by late bootlegger Mike 'The Mic' Millard, who would often sneak his recording equipment into venues, surprising listeners with his clear audio quality. However, he did not sell his recordings for profit.
The recordings were first made public via Pink Floyd's 50th anniversary Wish You Were Here 50 box set, released in December.
