SPOILER ALERT: Shock Family Guy news
If you've missed the social media thunderstorm that's broken out and don't want to hear what happened on last night's episode of the Griffin family saga, DO NOT click this link...
As if Monday wasn’t depressing enough… we have some desperately sad Family Guy news. But first, to ward off any spoilers (stop reading RIGHT NOW if you don't want to know), Executive Producer Steve Callahan explains to E! News:
"This was an idea that got pitched in the writers’ room and it sort of caught fire, and we thought it could be a fun way to shake things up,” "As soon as this idea came up, we started talking about what the next couple episodes could be and we got very excited about the way this change will affect the family dynamics and the characters."
What is he referring to? Well, the news from the States is that Brian from Family Guy is dead. We don’t mind admitting that Team Hot Press cried big salty years when we saw the clip below.
“It seemed more in the realm of reality that a dog would get hit by a car, than if one of the kids died," Callahan says. "As much as we love Brian, and as much as everyone loves their pets, we felt it would be more traumatic to lose one of the kids, rather than the family pet.”
Sorry, Steve, you’re wrong; we’re all inconsolable.
Today’s silver lining is the official trailer for the second season of Steve Van Zandt’s Lilyhammer, which Netflix have confirmed makes its bow here on December 13.
All the same, Brian, old chum, old pal, we’re going to miss you…
