Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars for Dublin
The six-piece roots act will play the NCH early next year...
Waltons are bringing Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars to Dublin’s National Concert Hall on January 23. Tickets priced between €16 and €34 are available from the NCH's site.
Forced to flea their country during its brutal civil war, the All Stars formed in refugee camps across the border in Guinea. Having entertained their fellow residents for several years, the sextet got the chance to bring their roots reggae to a wider audience. They’ve not looked back since and rate as an absolute must-see.
There will be a Concern stall on the night highlighting the relief organisation’s work in the poverty-struck East African country, which is still trying to rebuild following the internecine 11-year conflict.
