Set to release a new EP at the end of the month, Senor Coconut has announced two live dates in Ireland
Uwe Schmidt, the man with more alter egos than limbs, brings his Senor Coconut personna and an eight-piece orchestra to Ireland this month.
Born in Germany and based in Chile, Senor Coconut has amassed an impressive following since the release of El Baile Aleman – an album of Latin versions of Kraftwerk songs – with David Bowie and Kraftwerk themselves among his admirers.
Last year's Fiesta Songs saw more inspired reworkings of Michael Jackson, Deep Purple and The Doors, and the good news is that there's another EP, 'Beat It', set for release at the end of July.
You can catch Senor Coconut - aka LB, Geez 'n' Gosh, Eric Satin, Los Samplers, Atom Heart or Tea Time - in Dublin at The Village (July 29) and in Cork at the Half Moon Theatre (July 30).

And prepare to be dazzled - the live show features a Venezuelan vocalist, a Danish band on vibes, upright bass, percussion, and horns. Suffice it to say this is no novelty act!
Tickets for The Village gig are €20 (available from Road Records, Soundcellar and Ticketmaster) and €15.50 for the Half Moon gig (available from the box office).
