Samba comes to Drogheda
The dates and headline act for this year's Drogheda Samba Festival have been announced.
This year's event kicks off on Friday July 7, and runs over the weekend, ending on Sunday evening (July 9). Headlining the festival will be Brazilian 10-piece band Moleque de Rua (Street Urchins), who will also be appearing at the Belfast Carnival. The weekend will feature pub gigs, workshops, open air concerts, street performances and a parade.
The first ever Drogheda Samba Festival took place in 1994 and was the brainchild of former Waterboys member Colin Blakey. So now you know who to thank.
