Sabrina Carpenter calls out Trump for using her music in ICE promotion: "evil and disgusting"
Other artists such as Olivia Rodrigo have similarly called out the Trump administration for using their music without permission.
Sabrina Carpenter has called out the White House for using her music in a social media video promoting ICE raids.
The White House posted a video showcasing a montage of ICE (Immigration and Customs Reinforcement) aggressively tackling and handcuffing individuals and taking them into custody. Carpenter's hit song 'Juno' off her latest album Short And Sweet played as the backing audio for the clip.
"This video is evil and disgusting," wrote Carpenter on X. "Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”
Several artists have accused the White House social media and Donald Trump of repeatedly using their music without consent. In October, singer Kenny Loggins bashed the White House of their use of his song 'Danger Zone' on a video that depicted Trump dropping feces onto "No Kings" protestors.
“This is an unauthorized use of my performance of ‘Danger Zone’," said Loggins in a statement. "Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video is removed immediately."
Last month, Grammy award-winning pop singer Olivia Rodrigo condemned the use of her song 'All-American Bitch' in a clip encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport, posted by United States Homeland Security.
“don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda," Rodrigo commented. Her comment was later removed after the post went viral, and the White House eventually deleted her song from the clip.
