DIIV announce new album ZIRP! produced by A.G. Cook

DIIV have announced that their new album ZIRP! will release on October 30 via Fantasy Recordings. The album will be produced by A.G. Cook, most known for his work with Charli XCX on several albums, including Brat and Music, Fashion, Film.

ZIRP! was first announced in a unique way, with fans receiving business cards to their homes. These cards included a QR code leading to the band's website and a phone number. The phone number played an audio message from the band, stating that ZIRP! is, “the future of alternative multimedia entertainment."

On the band's website they described the album as such: "This is The New Alternative: a new genre for the 21st century."

In anticipation, the band released their newest single from the album, 'The Fountain.'

DIIV (pronounced and formerly known as Dive) are a shoegaze post-punk band from Brooklyn that formed in 2011. The group comprises Zachary Cole Smith on lead vocals and guitar, Andrew Bailey on guitar, Colin Caulfield on bass and vocals, and Ben Newman on drums.

The indie rockers list dream-pop acts like My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive among their biggest influences.

The band is set to play multiple live shows to coincide with the album, playing North America with special festival appearances in South America and Europe.
