Sounds from a Safe Harbour announce first-ever vinyl release and present international tour

Cork-based arts festival Sounds from a Safe Harbour (SFSH) has announced their first-ever vinyl, SFSH25 MIXTAPE, out September 25, as well as the international tour of SIRENS, a live music project.

The news comes alongside the release of The Dreams are Ours to Keep, a short film honoring Eoin French (Talos), who passed away two years ago today.

SFSH25 MIXTAPE captures highlights from MIXTAPE, an orchestral performance staged during the 2025 festival. It brings together a collection of international artists performing newly arranged versions of their work with a full concert orchestra and choir, recorded live at Cork Opera House.

The original performance saw Jon Hopkins, The Staves, Amanda Bergman, Sam Amidon, Sean Carey, Leif Vollebekk and Angie McMahon each reimagine a piece from their catalogue in collaboration with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra and the SFSH Choir, under conductor Cormac McCarthy.

“It was clear on the night that this show deserved to be captured for posterity,” said producer Ber Quinn. “You could sense a shared joy in the performances as each artist reacted in real time to hearing their songs elevated onstage.”

SFSH's music project, SIRENS, hosted by Lisa Hannigan, brings together a changing ensemble of artists from Ireland and around the world. The autumn 2026 tour will feature Amanda Bergman, Kate Stables, Angie McMahon, Loah and more.

The project was first developed during the SFSH 2025 residency and made its debut at St. Anne’s Church in Cork City. The tour will see the ensemble travel from Inis Oírr and across Ireland to Cardiff, Berlin, London and San Sebastián, with dates in September and October.
