RTÉ Concert Orchestra to play Radiohead's Greenwood

Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood, Kjartan Sveinsson of Sigur Ros and Steve Reich are among the artists whose work will be performed on July 29.

The concert is part of Cork Opera House’s Reich Effect, a celebration of legendary composer Steve Reich in his 75th year.

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra will open the concert with ‘Step Team’ and ‘So To Speak’, orchestral works by young American composer Nico Muhly who has been described by The Daily Telegraph as “the hottest composer on the planet”.

The pieces were all written specifically for orchestra, and the night will offer a rare chance to hear them on Irish soil. Tickets are priced at €30 and are available from 021 427 0022 or www.corkoperahouse.ie (booking fee may apply).
