Roundstone Arts Week attracts top Irish musicans
An the isolated village on the west coast of Ireland becomes a thriving artistic hub from June 25 to July 3
This year’s Roundstone Arts Week kicks off on Saturday, June 25, and will include a music trail with over thirty gigs.
The event also offers children’s theatre, street performers, literary events and visual art exhibitions.
There will be an eclectic bunch of musicians heading to Roundstone, a picturesque, isolated village on Ireland’s west coast.
Frances Black will be playing the Roundstone Community Hall on the opening day of the Arts Week, with The Contempo Quartet playing in the Star Of The Sea Church the following night.
Other highlights at the festival include Irish traditional favourites Dervish at the Roundstone Community Hall on Wednesday June 29, and seasoned veterans The Saw Doctors at the same venue on Saturday, July 2. For something a bit different, check out FRED at the Shamrock on Sunday, June 26.
Other musicians confirmed to play at the Arts Week, which runs until Sunday July 3, include Colm Querney, Zoe Conway, Nigel Mooney, Christopher Dallman, Tychonaut, Noelie McDonnell, Declan O’Rourke, Kevin May, The Kane Sisters, Ruth Dillon, Ian Whitty, Gary Dunne, Mocrac, Emmet Scanlon, Peadar King, Nigel Mooney, Jinx Lennon, The Bray Vista, Orlagh De Bhaldraithe, The Redneck Manifesto and Emer Mayock.
