Rough Trade Records are the match-ball sponsors for Bohemian's Friday night fixture against Cork City
The Smiths, Lankum, Girl Band, Jarvis Cocker, The Strokes & The Libertines are all likely to be getting a run out!
Bohemian FC add to their already impressive rock ‘n’ roll credentials by having Rough Trade Records sponsor the match-ball for their Friday October 5 home win against Cork City (Biased? Us? Never!)
The legendary indie label are doing this to celebrate The Livelong Day, the new Lankum album, which is being released on October 25 through their River Lea imprint.
As part of the collaboration, all of the music played through the stadium's impressive BOSE PA will be by Rough Trade acts past and present. We're hoping for some Swell Maps or Horace Andy, although The Smiths, The Libertines, The Strokes and Arcade Fire are probably more likely. After the game, Donal Dineen will be performing a free DJ set in Bohs' Phoenix Bar, with lots of quality craft beers for lubrication.
Saturday night finds Rough Trade supremo Geoff Travis curating the Tradition Now gig in the National Concert Hall, which features the combined talents of Lisa O’Neill, Ye Vagabonds and Bríghde Chaimbeul.
The Dalymount turf has previously been trodden by the likes of Thin Lizzy, Meatloaf, Black Sabbath, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers and, perhaps most famously of all, Bob Marley & The Wailers whose 1980 visit inspired a recent Bohs shirt design.
