Rippin' it up: Woodstar guitarist injured during rehearsals
Kieran Calvert will sit out of Woodstar's UK dates this week after suffering a freak injury to his strumming hand
Woodstar have had to draft in an emergency replacement for Kieran Calvert after the guitarist injured himself in rehearsals.
"It was weird," says a spokesman for the Limerick band. "Kieran was in the middle of a song when a cable snapped and lashed across his strumming hand. He'll be alright but he got a nasty gash which required some stitches. He was more concerned that his beloved guitar might have been damaged!"
Troupers that they are, the band have drafted in friend and Woodstar fan Paul O'Connor for two shows this week in the UK.
"Paul has to learn all the guitar parts by the time we get to Margate or he's dead!" warn the band.
