It's all smiles in radio land as the annual JNLR results are revealed
As usual, the nation’s major radio stations are claiming victory in the ratings war with the announcement of this year’s JNLR results – the definitive listeners survey of who’s hot and who’s not in radio land.
RTE claim an overall 46% share of the market, with RTE Radio 1 attracting 909,000 listeners daily. 2fm, with 824,000, come in a close second and Lyric FM bring up the rear with 115,000.
Newbies Spin1038 are suitably pleased with their 120% growth rate which sees them pencilled in above 2fm and Today FM in the evening 15 to 34 year old age bracket.
"We have reaped the rewards of focusing our programming format firmly on the 15 to 34 year old market", says CEO Naomi Maguire. "Our schedule has delivered a consistent listenership across the broadcast day which is reflected in strong growth in our market share."
Today fm are similarly positive, with results that signal a 1% rise in the national commercial station’s market share, bringing it up to 10%.
