Rachel Chinouriri announces new album I think I spoke too soon

Rachel Chinouriri has announced her new album I think I spoke too soon, set for release on October 16.

The album promises a “vulnerable study into unpicking those tensions between the internal and the external, our thoughts and our actions, who we are versus who we want to be,” according to a press release.

“My core thing is you can change who you are at any moment and you can forgive yourself at any moment,” Rachel said of the album’s themes. “And I think forgiving yourself is the first step in becoming a better person.”

Alongside the announcement comes the release of the album’s lead single, ‘One song away from crying.’

The song “is about the precipice of a night out where you know you need to leave and have to make a decision,” Chinouriri shared. “It’s a deeper decision because it’s less about the night itself but more about a reflection of a deeper internal conflict with your self value that you haven’t looked at yet.”

She also announced that she will be performing a run of headline shows to celebrate the album, with a date in Dublin’s The Academy on September 5.

The London-based indie artist released her debut album What A Devastating Turn of Events in 2024. The record won her two BRIT Award nominations – Artist of The Year and Best New Artist.

In 2025 she supported Sabrina Carpenter’s UK and Europe Short n’ Sweet arena tour and performed around the US for her own debut headline tour.

This year, she’s supported Florence + The Machine on tour dates in the US and Ireland, played with Wolf Alice at London’s Finsbury Park earlier this month and performed sets at Governors Ball, All Things Go Toronto and Bonnaroo festivals.
