Phoebe Bridgers' new album to be played in full at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium this weekend ahead of official release

Phoebe Bridgers’ new album Lost Weekend will be played in full at planetariums around the world this weekend ahead of its official release on August 14.

The special listening parties will take place in 40 different planetariums from August 10 through August 14, including at the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium on August 11 and 13.

Each listening session pairs Lost Weekend with one of two original visual accompaniments: a custom dome show, designed by night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi, or an immersive laser show designed by Laser Fantasy.

The events are phone and camera free, with devices secured upon arrival and returned to attendees after leaving the planetarium dome.

On July 29, Bridgers released the tracklist for her upcoming album. It includes collaborations from the likes of Jack Antonoff, Alex G and Bright Eyes members Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, among others, with comedian Bo Burnham being listed as a co-writer.

This will be the third solo album for the four-time Grammy winner and her first release in six years.

Next month, Bridgers will go on her worldwide Lost Tour which will see two sold-out nights at Dublin’s 3Arena on November 23 and 24.

Meanwhile, she is set to appear as a cast member of Primetime, a new A24 movie directed by Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson that is based on Chris Hansen’s 2000s TV program, To Catch a Predator.
