Australian singer/songwriter Pete Murray has scheduled a one-off show at Dublin's Ambassador Theatre this October to support the international release of his second album, See The Sun.
When an injury ended his professional rugby career, Murray took to music and taught himself how to play guitar. Before long, he was playing gigs around Australia and selling demo CDs out of his van.
From those humble origins, his 2003 debut Feeler went six times platinum in his native country, earned him 12 ARIAS (The Australian equivalent of the Grammys) nominations and stayed in the top 100 for over two and a half years. His 2005 follow-up, See The Sun has already gone 5 times platinum after debuting at number one, cementing his position as one of Australia's best singer/songwriters.
Pete has already toured all over the world with his backing band the Stonemasons, supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Richard Ashcroft and others. As an added bonus the Dublin show will see him perform as part of a three-piece, an experience that only the Japanese have enjoyed thus far.
