In all, there are 37 dates in a globe-spanning tour that will see NewDad play China, Japan, the US, Europe, the UK and Ireland (whew!)
Galway band NewDad have announced an extensive live tour that will culminate with a gig in 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, on October 31 and three other Irish dates, in Cork, Galway and Belfast. The band’s epic globe-trotting follows the recent release of their Safe EP.
The tour will see the band perform across multiple countries, beginning on July 15, 2025, in Shenzen, China. There are seven dates in China, followed by a date at Fuji Rock in Japan – after which they hit the west coast of the United States, playing the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles. After nine dates in North America – including a show in Toronto, Canada – they return to Europe, with a series of Scandinavian dates.
Then it’s in to mainland Europe, the UK – and finally Ireland.
"The beauty and bite of NewDad’s debut album Madra made the Galway band one of the biggest new hopes around,” a press release states, with more than a little justification.
"Their live performances so far have equally left an indelible mark, including standout sets at Koko, Glastonbury and groundbreaking shows in China and Japan. Vocalist and guitarist Julie Dawson fondly recalls the magic of 1,600 fans singing along in Shanghai, a testament to the band’s global resonance."

The upcoming live tour is a celebration of NewDad’s journey so far – and, they are hoping, a showcase of their future. Crowds can expect highlights from their debut album Madra, recent EP Safe and their soon-to-be-completed second album.
"Their new music marks a bold step forward with a swaggering new self-confidence,” we are told. "In short: their ethereal elements feel more alluring than ever; the visceral moments are more selective and dynamic, but hit just as hard; and their songs are simply a leap in sophistication."
26-year-old producer Sam Breathwick, aka Shrink, with whom the band collaborated on the Safe EP, will be joining the live lineup. He will bring his studio magic to the stage on lead guitar and synths, further expanding NewDad’s ambitious sound.
