Palace announce 3Olympia show
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 am.
British alt-rock band Palace have announced a show at Dublin's 3Olympia on May 2, 2027, as part of their upcoming European and UK tour.
This comes after the release of their fifth studio album, Ox, which arrived on September 18.
Recorded in Deptford with long-time producer Adam Jaffrey, Ox has "a lightness and momentum to it," according to drummer Matt Hodges.
Following last year's Greyhound EP, the album draws inspiration from the likes of Townes Van Zandt and Edward Hopper.
Meanwhile, they are currently embarking on an autumn tour of the US and Canada.
Palace formed in 2012, when lead singer Leo Wyndham, lead guitarist Rupert Turner, bassist Will Dorey and Hodges began working on their sound together as school friends. They then released their debut EP Lost in the Night in 2014.
Their first studio album, So Long Forever, was then shared in 2017 - the same year Dorey departed to pursue his project Skinshape, turning the group into a trio.
So Long Forever's 'Live Well' reached 100 million streams alone.
Since then, Palace have headlined worldwide tours and played festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella.
In 2022, the band played their largest Irish headline show to date at Dublin's Vicar Street. This came as Palace were releasing their third studio album Shoals, having shared 'Gravity' as a preview. The single was described as a "woozy, swirling reflection on existentialism that spirals into a soaring breakdown."
After Shoals, Palace released Ultrasound in 2024 - which was written and recorded in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and channeled Wyndham's personal anxieties and lockdown struggles into the songwriting.
Tickets for their 3Olympia show are available here.
