New music night announced for Cork
Gig-goers in Cork are set for a treat, with a new style of intimate 'music evenings' set to take place in February and March.
'Music Space 126' will happen every Friday and Saturday night at 9pm, upstairs in Mead's Wine Bar at 126 Oliver Plunkett St.
The organisers hope to provide a 'weekend haven' for fans of folk, blues, rock, world, trad and jazz. Participating musicians will be encouraged to experiment with their existing material, try out new songs, new ways of presenting their set as well as having a bit of fun with their audience. The sessions will be "very relaxed, laid back, all seated, no stage and very raw."
The space will cater for a maximum of 30 people per night and patrons are advised to arrive early or pre-book their places by calling 021 4270475. Tickets will be available at the door for €10.
The lineup for February is as follows:
Ger Wolfe - Friday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
Ken Cotter - Saturday 2nd & 16th
Aaron Dillon - Saturday 9th & 23rd
