Netflix releases trailer for Kylie Minogue documentary

Netflix has released the trailer and confirmed the premiere date for its upcoming documentary series KYLIE, which focuses on the life and career of Kylie Minogue. The three-part series is scheduled to be released on May 20.

The trailer shows combined archival footage with new interviews, outlining key moments from Minogue’s career in music and entertainment. It also addresses aspects of her personal life, including her experience with breast cancer. In the trailer, Minogue describes feeling “removed from her body” during that period and facing uncertainty about what lay ahead.

Netflix said the documentary “opens her personal archives and reflects on a life that captivates, inspires and soundtracks multiple generations.” The series is produced by Ventureland.

The documentary includes contributions from several figures associated with Minogue’s career, including her sister Dannii Minogue, as well as Australian actor and singer Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman, who worked with her early in her career.

The series is directed by Michael Harte, a BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker who previously directed the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham, about British footballer David Beckham.

Minogue is a two-time Grammy Award winner and one of the highest-selling female Australian artists in music history. Over a career spanning nearly five decades, she has released 17 studio albums and achieved multiple international chart successes.

Her work has covered a range of musical styles, from pop and dance to electronic music. Her most recent album, Tension II, was released in 2024.
