New Justin Timberlake documentary set to feature Janet Jackson
The four-part series will drop on Apple TV in December.
Justin Timberlake will release a new four-part documentary on Apple TV in December, according to Variety. He previously starred in the Apple TV thriller, Palmer, in 2021.
The series will be a "tell-all" and will allegedly feature Janet Jackson, who will discuss her 2004 Super Bowl performance with Timberlake, and the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" that occured during the show.
Jackson served as headliner for the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, with Timberlake joining her as a guest performer during the concert. He emphasised the 'Rock Your Body' refrain of 'Gonna have you naked by the end of this song' by grabbing Jackson's costume and exposing her right breast.
Timberlake and the network swiftly apologised, with Timberlake calling his actions a "wardrobe malfunction," however he distanced himself from the controversy as Jackson received the majority of the backlash. Her career was significantly impacted, she was blacklisted from radio for a number of years. Timberlake returned to the Super Bowl as a headline performer for the halftime show in 2017.
It is also alleged that the musician will discuss his relationship with Britney Spears, following comments she made in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. The pair dated between 1999 and 2002, Spears alleged that she had an abortion because Timberlake was not ready to be a father.
Timberlake publicly apologised to both women in 2021, following the release of the Britney Spear's documentary Framing Britney. The film shone a light on Timberlake's past actions, which prompted public backlash.
"I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed."
Following the release of his latest album Everything I Thought It Was in 2024, Timberlake was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbour, New York.
The arrest came weeks before he embarked on his run of US and European dates, which included a show at Dublin's Malahide Castle in June 2025.
The singer announced he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2025, following the conclusion of his Forget Tomorrow world tour.
"I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease," he wrote in a statement on Instagram.
"Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically."
