Murphy's Live kicks off 2006
The New Year gets off to the brightest of starts with the launch of Murphy’s Live 2006.
As part of the initiative, six up and coming band will get to play high profile supports with Waiting Room (February 9 @ The Brog, Cork); The Revs (16 @ The Granary, Killarney); The Chalets (23 @ Geoff’s, Waterford) and another big soon-to-be-confirmed act.
In addition to receiving €500 worth of music vouchers, the participating groups will have their demos included on the Murphy’s Live 2006 CD, which will be available at the gigs and sent to key industry personnel.
March’s Grand Final in Cork will determine the overall winner and recipient of a whopping €2,000 worth of professional studio time.
It’s a substantial prize that’s enabling last year’s victors, Ten Past Seven, to release their debut ‘Shut Up Four Face’ single on November 16.
If you want to follow in their footsteps, email [email protected] or call (021) 4550434.
The judges include Angela Dorgan from the Federation of Music Collectives and representing Ireland’s most fortnightly magazine, Steve Cummins.
