Mumblin' Deaf Ro announces series of shows
Dublin singer-songwriter Mumblin' Deaf Ro has just announced three concerts for this autumn.
On the back of his sophomore album The Herring And The Brine Rónán Hession is to play at a fundraiser for Amnesty International's Irish Section in the Boom Boom Room, Dublin, on September 15th.
He'll follow that up two concerts supporting Delorentos, in DeBarra's, Clonakilty, on 12 October, and McGarrigle's, Sligo, on October 13th.
Mumblin' Deaf Ro's debut album Senor My Friend . . . featured more characters than a Tom Waits record, and his wispy voice and delicate guitar-picking are once again to the fore on The Herring And The Brine. The storytelling tendencies also remain, with tales of a former President of El Salvadór and an agnostic priest.
Admission for the Dublin show is €8 on the door, while booking information on the Cork and Sligo dates is to be found at from DeBarra's on 023 36549 (or at www.debarra.ie) and from McGarrigle's on 071 141667.
