More 'Beautiful Night' acts revealed
Alanis Morissette and Paddy Casey bobbing around together on a pontoon on the Lagan? If you lie awake nights thinking what a wondrous thing this would be, good news, April 30 finds the aforementioned tunesmiths appearing on a floating stage outside Belfast's Waterfront Hall as part of the BBC Music Live extravaganza.
Also expect some seriously big names to play One Big Weekend, a free, 20,000-capacity event taking place in Derry on April 24 & 25.
"It's dance on the Saturday and rock on the Sunday," a BBC spokesman tells hotpress.com. "The line-up won't be announced until April but the headliner on the second night is somebody of the calibre of The White Stripes."
The festivities also include:
Brian Kennedy, Maria Ewing & Jacqui Dankworth @ the Millennium Forum, Derry (April 28)
Bruce Dickinson & 6Music present Therapy? and Funeral For A Friend @ Mandela Hall, Queens University, Belfast (May 1)
Afro Cuban All Stars & Cara Dillon @ The Floating Stage, Waterfront Hall, Belfast (May 1)
Fans should also give (+44) 08700 100 125 if they fancy watching Altan record a live set for BBC Radio 3's Andy Kershaw at McGrory's bar in Culdaff, County Donegal.
