Moodymann makes live Irish debut
Motor City's Moodymann plays Dublin's Sugar Club next month
Dance maverick Moodymann makes his Irish debut on June 18 in Dublin’s Sugar Club.
Better know to the Inland Revenue as Kenny Dixon Jr., the Detroit technocrat refuses to give interviews, and eschews modern trends by utilising classic soul and jazz samples, low-slung basslines and an approach to drum programming that’s diametrically opposed to the tendency to push the tempo faster and faster.
On stage at 9pm sharp, he’s joined for his live set by Paul Randolph, Piranahead, Andreas, Roberta Sweed and Nikki-O.
Tickets priced €28.50 are on sale from the usual dance outlets citywide.
Also upcoming at the Leeson Street venue on June 15 is Jinx Lennon, the Dundalk singer-songwriter responsible for the magnificent Six Songs To Curb The Daily Activity Of Vampires EP.
