Merriman invited to sing on American Civil War album
Irish singer-songwriter Liam Merriman has been invited to sing a song on an album of original material about the American Civil War.
The song has been co-written by Thom Jutz, Charlie Stefl and Nashville-based Northern Ireland writer Peter Cronin. It’s about an Irish soldier caught up in the war, and the producers specifically wanted an Irish voice on the track. Merriman files to Nashville in January to record it.
Merriman’s diary for 2011 is already filling up, with plans well in hand for an Irish tour with Nanci Griffith guitarist Jutz who produced his current album, his third, The Night Is Huge.
