Maximo Park singer and Limerick tourist ambassador Paul Smith is releasing his debut solo album, Margins, through his own Billingham Records label on October 8.
Accompanied by Field Music’s David and Peter Brewis, Smith has come up with 13 typically literate pop gems including ‘North Atlantic Drift’, which is available as a free [link]www.paulsmithmusic.eu[/link] download.
Paul, who’s adamant that he’s not giving up on the day-job, will be touring in support.
If you’re wondering about that Limerick reference, Smith told Hot Press in a recent interview that the walk along the Shannon from Dolan’s Warehouse to King John’s Castle had inspired several of the ideas on Maximo’s Our Earthly Pleasures album.
