Madra Salach, Calum Agnew, The Donnys and The Wu join lineup for Electric Picnic’s ArtLot Area
A new micro dance venue Seomra Boil has also been added to the area
Electric Picnic’s ArtLot area has announced their packed lineup for this year, featuring Madra Salach, Calum Agnew, The Donnys and The WU.
Joining them is Peter Richardson, Cameron Allan Band, City Pets, The Labourers, Tadhg Williams and Empty Internet, alongside spoken word from Phil Kenny and Vagabond Queen.
Located in the woods of Stradbally Hall, the ArtLot stage will close off Sunday night with a late set from festival favourites King Kong Company, followed by techno collective RATHAUS playing until 4 am.
The area’s “after dark” programme will also see a UV paint party with Granny’s Gaff resident Sharpson, plus DJ sets from Jamie Ennis, Bob Manzanilla, Budly, Floody, Tribal Chieftains, Kipunji, Mills, AdzyOB, Nocturnal, BANYAH, Jordo Byrne and CNC.
Elsewhere in the area, large-scale art installations and immersive spaces will be showcased.
Visitors can step into Granny’s House – a retro recreation of a 1980s living room – relax in Amy’s Wine House, a derelict-style tribute to late artists, or grab a picture in the Snug PhotoBooth.
There will be murals from painter Kevin Bohan, textile work by Limerick artist Rachel Maloney, and flower installations from Patrick Blue. Free painting classes will be run by Groove & Palette, led by Aleksandra Golanska, and Tonik Studios will host craft and print workshops.
New for this year is Seomra Boil, an intimate club space built into an abandoned shipping container and curated by DiscoBox Collective. Celebrating Irish club culture, it will host DJs including Ailbhe Ní Riain & Cairbre (B2B), SHV, Aaron, Paulo, Manwelli, DJ Jessica Maciel and SB – organisers warn that flashing lights are included.
Electric Picnic takes place at Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois August 29-31, with ArtLot once again forming part of the festival’s “Cultural Quarter.”
